Mathematical Foundations of Audiovisual Technology
The course presents the applied mathematics that are used in audiovisual technology and digital art. More specifically, the goal of this course is to offer to the students the fundamental principals of the mathematics used to sound, image and video processing and in general to new technologies. In particular the subjects tackled include:
Signal Processing and Analysis (Fourier analysis, sine transform, modeling), Vector Analysis – Functional Analysis and Calculus. Disceite Mathematics (disceite functions, sampling, quantization), Discrete Fourier Transform. Linear Algebra (matrices, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, tensors). Probabilities, Statistics and Combinatorics (probability density function, mean value, deviation, descributions). Graph theory.
