Geologo-Graphia - Dwelling in the Post-Anthroposcene
Date and Time: 09/05/2025 (09:00-20:05)
Location: Ionian Academy
Panagiotis Kalantzis

This research explores the evolving relationship between humans, nature, and the built environment through speculative methodologies. It proposes hybrid geographies and alternative forms of dwelling by engaging with posthuman, post-industrial, post-imperial landscapes. Drawing from environmental philosophy, spacial practices, and posthuman perspectives, the study positions architecture and artistic research as tools for both narrative and critique. Using speculative mapping, narrative writing, and hybrid visualizations, the project reimagines habitation as a continuous negotiation with nonhuman systems.

Panagiotis Kalantzis

Panagiotis Kalantzis is an architect and designer with a deep interest in research, emerging technologies, and spatial design. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.), where his thesis, Post-Geographies: Ways of Inhabiting the World, was awarded best diploma thesis of 2021 nationally. His research explores post-Anthropocene environments and new materialisms, rethinking spatial patterns and alternative ways of inhabiting the world. During his studies, he actively volunteered with NGOs in Greece and abroad, contributing to community-driven initiatives, cultural integration, and education, while also taking on management and administrative roles at a local and national level. As an architect, he has worked with interdisciplinary design practices, engaging in projects ranging from large-scale architectural developments and urban strategies to interior and product design, while integrating sustainability and digital storytelling. He has participated in public and private design competitions, earning honorable mentions. Currently, through his Master of Research in Hybrid Arts, Panagiotis expands his exploration of post-Anthropocene landscapes, investigating how design shapes contemporary territorial practices and engages with more-than-human ecologies and evolving environments.
