This paper focuses on the development of game-based learning software. The main aim is to create complex software for the interactive teaching of algorithmization. It includes an information search that summarizes the results in software development using game elements for teaching. The paper describes ideas, scenarios, technologies, and development approaches we used to develop a practical learning application. We also share the authors' ideas on deploying serious gaming principles into didactics of informatics in the undergraduate education process and, in a broader sense, into all levels of education. We advocate the utilization of game-based learning as an effective teaching tool at the university education level, an approach that is still relatively uncommon. In the end, the goals achieved are evaluated, and the direction of the project's future development is suggested. The paper can serve as helpful guidance for the teacher's training to include more interactive tools into the education process as well as for the future developers of game-based learning projects.
