On 13 and 20 December, 2023 (time 17:00-19:00 pm.), a double-lecture entitled "Semiology of Internet Art" will be given by guest-speaker Dr. Tania Tsiridou (Specialized Teaching Staff of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University), as part of the course "Semiotic Analysis of New Media" (ΜΑ "Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age"). The lectures will take place through the postgraduate online platform, coordinated by Associate Professor Ms. Dalila Honorato.

The lecture focuses on the main characteristics and the various practices and forms that Internet Art takes, as a result of the technological and social developments that shape it, from the beginnings of this art form until today. Artworks and artists that contributed to the development of Internet Art are presented and the main concepts and their thematics are being analysed.

Tania Tsiridou has been a member of the teaching staff at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University since 2008. She has participated in audio-visual productions and group exhibitions both in Greece and abroad. Presently, her research interests focus on internet technologies, interaction, immersive environments as well as the integration of scientific data in the design and development process of artistic works. In recent years, she actively participates in various academic and artistic events of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, as a member of the AV-School workshop and seminar cycle committee, as a founding member of the Interactive Arts Research Laboratory (InArts) and in the design and organisation of exhibitions in the context of the Taboo - Transgression -Transcendence in Art and Science conference and Audiovisual Arts Festival. In addition, she is a reviewer for the journal Technoetic Arts: A Journal of Speculative Research.
